After starting her career as an advertising copywriter for Bryce Courtenay in Sydney, Tori spent a decade in London directing at MTV, Turner Broadcasting and most recently was the Creative Director of Film 4, the British digital television channel, owned and operated by Channel Four Television Corporation.
Tori won numerous Best Director Awards for her Short Film `The Barrows’ in 2008 including The Australian Directors Guild, the Homebrewed Film Festival here in Oz, Washington DC Shorts Film Festival, Washington USA, No Spot Film Festival, New York as well as winning Best Drama and Best Female Director at The International Festival of Cinema and Technology 2008 . The film toured with the St Kilda film festival here and was in competition at Palm Springs, Rhode Island, Festival Cinema Tout Ecran, Geneva, Malibu, Staten Island, LA shorts among others, and made the short film corner at Cannes.
In Australia, Tori has directed International Emmy award winning teen drama Slide for Fox 8, Wentworth for Soho Channel and Channel 5 in the UK, was Set up Director for Wonderland, Ten Network Australia, directed two series of Time of Our Lives for the ABC, which Tori was nominated for Best Director in a Drama Series by the Australian Director’s Guild 2014. Most recently she directed block 2 of Hiding for the ABC. She is also the managing partner of Two Little Indians Films, one of the country’s leading TVC production companies, who are now moving into originating long form production for film and TV.
Tori is currently in development on her first feature film `Box’ (AWGIE WINNING SCREENPLAY) with Producer Todd Fellman and writer James Greville, and a mini series called Who Killed Harold Holt , as well as several original TV Drama Series with the help of the Screen QLD Enterprise Fund. She has also been attached as Director to the feature film, Don’t Tell, which is currently in preproduction, and shooting late 2015.
